BEFORE YOUR FIRST SOAK
Practical answers to help you plan your first wood-fired soak.
No. The integrated wood-burning heater warms the water using a wood fire. There is no electrical hookup required for heating, so you can enjoy a warm soak without installing wiring or finding an outdoor outlet.
No permanent plumbing is required. Fill the tub with fresh water before use, then heat it with the wood-burning heater. You still need a way to fill and drain the tub; it simply does not need to stay connected to a water line.
The routine is straightforward: position the tub on a suitable, stable, level base, fill it to the required water level, and then light the fire in the heater. Follow the product instructions for placement, filling and operation. Never light the heater before the tub is correctly filled.
The freestanding design gives you flexibility to choose an outdoor location without being tied to an electrical outlet or permanent plumbing. The base must support the tub, its water and its users. Allow the clearances and ventilation specified in the installation instructions; a raised deck needs its load capacity checked before installation.
Heating time depends on the starting water temperature, outdoor conditions and how the fire is maintained. This is a wood-fired bathing routine: fill the tub, start the fire and allow time for the water to warm. Check the water temperature before getting in rather than relying on a fixed heating time.
Wood-fired heating lets you enjoy a warm outdoor soak without an electrical hookup for the heater. The fire becomes part of the experience, and the freestanding design gives you more choice over placement. You will need firewood and time to tend the fire; it suits people who enjoy preparing their soak.
The tub combines a stainless-steel body with red cedar seating and a backrest. The integrated wood-burning heater, guarded chimney and built-in access step bring the heating and bathing elements together in one freestanding design.
It needs regular care. Keep the bathing surfaces clean, manage the water according to the product instructions, and remove ash only once the heater has fully cooled. Wood-fired heating removes the need for an electric heater; it does not remove the need for water hygiene or routine maintenance.
Choose and prepare the new location first. Move the tub only when it is empty and the heater has fully cooled, using the handling method and equipment specified for the product. Do not move it while filled or while a fire is burning.

I wasn't sure how often we'd actually use a wood-fired tub.
Turns out, I'm usually the one suggesting it.
I liked the stainless steel design from the start, especially the simple shape and wooden details.
Getting the fire going takes some planning, so it's something we make an evening of.
That suits us.
Last time, we sat outside watching the trees until it was too dark to see much of anything.
My phone stayed in the kitchen, which almost never happens.
The walk back to the house in the cold was less enjoyable. Keep a towel close.
